Inside A XXX Marriage

This documentary was truly an eye-opening and thought-provoking viewing experience. It provides a comprehensive account of the type of pressures a young married couple (Eric & Wendy) have to deal with while working in the adult film industry. It was great to be able to observe the personal and ‘unscripted’ interactions between Eric and Wendy during the documentary. Furthermore, we particularly liked how the documentary looked at the HIV scare which occurred in the industry in 2004 and the impact it had on Eric and Wendy’s marriage. This is a definite watch for those interested in getting an understanding of the stressors faced by those working in the adult film industry while trying to sustain an intimate relationship outside of the job.

If you purchase this video expecting great sex scenes, you will be greatly disappointed. With just minor editing of a few minutes of actual sex, this video could be easily shown on cable systems. However, this was an extremely interesting video done in an interview format with Eric and Wendy, a married couple who make their living as adult film stars. They tell of their meeting, marriage, introduction into adult movie scene, and most importantly how they make their marriage work when both spend their days having sex with others. Both come off as and extremely intelligent, well adjusted couple, who have a wonderful sex life together outside their noraml workday. There are several short segments of movies they have been in, either as a couple or seperatly. HIV scare in the adult industry was also discussesd, as well as how they reacted to it. If I were to rate this strictly as an adult movie, I would probably give it one star, but because it actually is a documentary, and was done extremely well,,I have to give it 5 stars.

We have seen Eric and Wendy in the Better Sex Video Series prior to watching this video and were immediately interested in their marriage due to the fact that they are also both adult film stars. XXX Marriage takes you on a journey from the beginning of their relationship to when they got started in films and beyond. They explained the challenges they had endured and how they were able to work through them even when it was not the least bit easy. It was refreshing to hear about the initial jealousy, which was the first thing that we questioned after learning about their careers. On other porn DVDs, the behind the scenes footage in the extra features can be the best part. This movie took you behind the scenes on a more personal level. However, one thing to keep in mind is that there is not any actual porn in this movie. We have had many challenges in our marriages and it was nice to reflect on others' and discuss how we think we would have handled it. The only reasons we are not giving this five hearts is because we would have enjoyed the discussions to go into a bit more depth. We were curious of other things such as how much they earn and what they enjoy in their spare time. The half an hour was not nearly long enough. ~The Joneses
