The New Devil in Miss Jones

I can go either way on slick, high production value adult movie. Sometimes I find it distracting when an adult movie is trying to be a movie/film by getting stars to act and show emotions not normally seen in an adult movie. However, the nice thing about this one is that the sex leads the plot along. If you try to piece an actual real plot together good luck, but you get it from the scenes presented. And the scenes are pretty fantastic. They used updating a classic as a marketing ploy when they really didn't. It's just a great adult movie.

A remake of the classic The Devil in Miss Jones starring Savanna Samson and Jenna Jamieson. We found this adult movie to be a little hard to follow plot wise, but this is due to Paul Thomas’ remaking the original script, which was a tad strange as well. One cool feature of this adult movie is multi angles. This feature allows you to view the same scene from different angles, which in turn makes the film more fun the next time you watch it. Savanna does a great job playing the down and out Miss Jones. After a meeting with Ms. Devlin (Jenna Jamieson) in a scene that would please any man, she finds out that things aren’t what they seem and Jenna is actually the devil. She is granted one day of her every desire. This translates into a lot of amazing sex scenes. Although this film is geared towards couples there are several girl on girl scenes (more then average that’s for sure.) Overall the sex scenes made this movie great as the story wasn’t easy to follow. The 3 disc set also includes the original Devil in Miss Jones and a bonus material DVD both adult movies are worth watching.

Having never seen the original movie, I had no expectations from this new version. While this is a movie with a plot I found it pretty hard to follow the plot. However, the end of the adult movie gave an explanation that FINALLY made it all make some sort of sense. Plot aside, this movie was pretty HOT! It seemed that each sex scene (or was it just me? lol) was progressively HOTTER than the one before! Each sex scene was more intense AND seemed to be moving closer & closer to things that qualified as "kinky". Probably a good way to ease in somebody who is a little more sexually conservative than myself. Things get HOTTER and kinkier with each scene and it all comes to climax with the ending orgy scene where all kinds of things are going on. Justine's double-penetration was the pinnacle and definitely put me over the top! With all of the extras and the original movie in this dvd set this is more than a bargain.

I really enjoied this movie, as it was the first adult movie with a plot that I have ever watched. Loved how it got kinkier with each scene. Though at first it did not make sense it finally explained its self and then burst into a awesome sex scene. It was great how it showed many different levels of kinky going on in the same scene. Would definately suggest this movie to others.

I almost forgot what the original version was about. The dvd collection is a very nice touch. My wife and I enjoyed the plot and several of the "action" scenes. It was not long before our petting became very hot and heavy. I am not sure if it was my dvd player that kept some scenes from jumping around, which made some scences hard to follow. The dvd is certainly worht watching for a second time.

Since we had never seen the original - we watched that first and found it to be a bit strange. This remake is a bit strange as well - but we enjoyed the results of watching it much more than the original. The plot is somewhat difficult to follow. However, that was made easier by having watched the original first. The sex scenes were excellent - but we would prefer just a few more of them. We will look forward to a second viewing of the remake. It might just well be that it is one of those movies that you like better each time you see it!

I've heard about the original but had never seen it. Since the original flick from '72 is included I decided to watch it first. I'm glad I did. The copy included was of better quality than expected. I thought that it would be grainy and dark and that the actors would be less attractive than today's stars. It turns out that the film was well lighted and the actors were ok to look at. The passion displayed by Justine Jones was interesting and I actually believed that she was into it. There was a plot that was easy to follow and made sense for what it was. The stuff with the water hose was weird and I'm surprised that the Sinclair folks approved this video since they say that they review the content for unsafe practices before they sell the products. Definitely worth watching if for no other reason than its historical significance. In watching the main feature it was annoying that the disk begins with 5 minutes of ads for phone sex and male enhancements and such. My player wouldn't let me get to the menu or do a chapter skip to get past the offensive content. If you are watching this as a couple make sure you have the sound muted and use the fast forward button to get to the main menu screen. The ads are pretty graphic. Vivid should change their editing and put the safe sex ad at the beginning and the phone sex ads at the end. On to the movie. This one was interesting. It was a little hard to follow the plot but was absorbing in that it kept me wanting to know what was happening to Justine. The writers and director did a good job of unfolding the story and then it made sense. The whole concept and execution had some pretty bizarre points. The sex scenes were hot. I would have liked the more normal sex scenes to be a little longer. I'm not into B & D so this was my first exposure and it could have been shorter. At least the guy with the needles wore rubber gloves! The last sex scene was a well executed link to the original movie complete with the same dialogue and much hotter sex! The movie wrapped up with a definite plausible end to the story. Some of the bonus features were worth watching. Especially the deleted sex scenes. Overall this movie is worth having in your library. Make sure you use the fast forward to get past any content that isn't for you. If you use chapter skip you might miss the plot content. My rating loses one star for the mandatory ad viewing.

It was great to get two adult movies, the old and the new. We watched the old one first and did not like it as good as the remake. The water hose and the snake scene in the old movie were really wierd. There was way too much advertising at the beginning of the new movie. In the new movie the sex scenes were a whole lot better than in the old. Definitely more of a guy movie. Guys would enjoy alot more than women.

I have mixed feelings about The New Devil In Miss Jones, but they're mainly positive. There’s a dark and eerie feeling to most of it, as well as a wide range of sex scenes. The scenes were great, but almost every scene left me feeling a little disappointed by being too short. It captures a fair amount of the original movie, as well as including some very nice additions to it. Where the original let the sex tell much of the story, the new version lets the story drive much of the movie. Regardless of how someone looks at it, this is a great movie with an amazing performance by Savanna Samson. One thing that makes the movie worthwhile is Savanna herself. She looks fantastic and gives one of the best acting performances. Paul Thomas’ direction is nicely done, although the movie itself could have had more sex scenes and a little less of a storyline.

The 1973 version of “The Devil in Miss Jones” is fascinating to watch, because it’s so different in the way it was filmed and choreographed compared to today’s adult films. The opening suicide scene is sheer pathos as well as the way it ends. Not a ‘pleasurable’ hour of titillation but gritty and savage in sexual need, incl: a mild lesbian scene by contemporary standards, a DP scene with a lengthy monologue. The sex acts are more realistic in length. Continued in the 2003 “The New Devil in Miss Jones” director Paul Thomas is in his darkest element updating the seductive satanic theme of suicide and regrets and having a lust for life. The indoor sets are visually disturbing blending beauty with dirty, raw sex acts The outdoor scenes are really gorgeous - brief respites – with the action still equally exciting, powerful. The sex scenes build in intensity – from Savannah and Nick Manning together poolside to gang sex, an acrobatic scene with Savannah and Jenna and a hard core S & M filled orgy – graphic and chilling in its repercussions. The ‘extras’ DVD is extensive. The ‘Behind the scenes’ section is a 45 detailed ‘mini film’ and the numerous star/director commentaries offer great additional personal insights. Good vs. Evil, having regrets is a time-tested theme in any genre – not for romantics or those who rather see softer porn. Excellent acting by the entire cast and I applaud Paul Thomas for this film. I’ve gone from NOT enjoying this film to genuinely appreciating the immense amount of sexual detail - you’re in for an excruciatingly dark, wild roller coaster ride. Enjoy the fantasy…
